What Is Oxy Facial?
OXY facial is very popular machine assisted skin exfoliating cosmetic procedure. It involves microdermabrasion to renew overall skin tone and texture. It aims to make the skin look younger. It uses a small handheld device to spray fine crystal particles of aluminum oxide to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin and it has vacuum suction to remove dead skin cells and dirt. This facial is painless, effective, affordable, simple, and quick with no downtime or risk.
Who Is Oxy Facial For?
Oxy facial is a safe procedure for all skin types, and it helps to treat fine lines, age spots (signs of ageing), sun damage, enlarged pores, blackheads, oily skin, dull looking skin complexion, uneven skin tone and texture. Oxy facial is also very beneficial treatment option for patients with busy lifestyles who are looking for quick fix for their dull and oily skin with no downtime.
What Is The Before And After Care For Oxy Facial?
Before Care
You should discuss your skin concerns, past cosmetic procedures, allergies, medical condition, and the procedure with Dr. Krishi Mandaliya, Aesthetic Doctor and Skin Expert, to find out whether it’s a right fit for your skin. You should avoid sun exposure, exfoliating, waxing for about few days prior to treatment.
After Care
Patients skin might be tender and pink after the procedure. However, it will fade in few hours. Patients can return to normal day-to-day activities immediately after the treatment. Acne treatment, retinol-based creams, medicated cleanser, and products might sting if you apply them right away after the treatment. So, you should avoid using them for a day. You can apply moisturizer and non-medicated mild cleanser for that day. You should use sunscreen (SPF 30+) after the procedure for a week to avoid sun damage.
How Does Oxy Facial Work?
During the appointment, you will be seated in a recliner chair, face is cleaned from all makeup, sunscreen, and dirt. A handheld device is used to gently spray on crystal particles and exfoliate outer layer of the skin in targeted areas. There is a vacuum suction in the handpiece to remove dead skin cells, dirt, and blackheads. In the second part of this treatment a wand is used to deliver a stream of high pressure oxygen to skin surface.
At the end of the procedure a mask usually containing hyaluronic acid is applied to the treated part. This procedure can be done on your face, neck, decolletage and back.
How Effective Is Oxy Facial?
Generally, patient will experience fresher, softer, smoother, and more rejuvenated skin. This facial will help stimulate collagen production and reduce photo ageing and fine lines.
How Often Should You Get An Oxy Facial?
Skin improvement with this facial is temporary and can be repeated at an average interval of 3-4 weeks depending on patient skin type and tolerance. Normally 6-12 sessions (multiple) are recommended for significant improvement. Each session will be for 50 to 55 minutes.
