After multiple sessions, the tattoo will fade away to a greater extent. The laser treatment takes six to eight sessions to achieve better results.

He will tell you not to expose the wound directly to the sunlight. He will also recommend you not to pick any scabs that are formed.

Surgical Removal

This procedure can leave a scar so it is mostly preferred for tattoos that are small in size. After the procedure, the doctor might ask you not to engage in any strenuous activity that will put pressure on the wound.

Dermabrasion

In this procedure, the doctor will numb your skin with a local anesthetic and use the sanding device and remove the top layers of skin allowing the tattoo ink to escape. This procedure is not advised for people who have sensitive skin or any skin conditions.

After this procedure, the doctor might advise you to avoid direct sunlight, tight clothing, avoid soaking the wound in the water, etc. You can prevent further complications if you follow the doctor’s instructions carefully, as dermabrasion can cause infection, redness, swelling, bleeding, etc. It usually takes 8 to 12 weeks to heal the wound.
